They may have had property but did not pay it off for many years; thus, they would not be listed in the deed records. Mortgages recorded after 1947 are located in the Recorder's office.

DEED INDEXES 1795 TO 1896: Lists the name of grantor and grantee, range and township number, section, lot, amount of acreage and amount paid. Indexes after 1896 are available in the Recorder's Office.

DEEDS 1795 TO 1896: These records contain the names of the grantee and grantor who purchased and/or sold land and the location and description of the property purchased or sold.

DEEDS 1897 TO PRESENT: Are available in Recorder Diana Marchese's office, 160 High Street, Administration Building.
